How will adding the Waggoner CCVT (extended color vision test) add medically to my practice? 

Dr. Chuck Aldridge’s response (Purchased Vision Expo West):  For me, the Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test (Waggoner CCVT) has shown to be sensitive and reinforces the diagnosis (and level of severity).  For example, when we look at an AMD patient, and even OCT this patient, all we have is an idea of structure. It doesn’t really tell me what is the function.   
 
The Diopsys (also functional assessment) so far is running consistent with Waggoner Diagnostics’ color vision test. A patient may “look like” they have a fair amount of AMD in their OD but the Diopsys says the eye is functioning better than I would expect. Lo and behold, when I look at the color vision test, the tritan deficiency is less (or not even deficient) on the OD.  
 
I had a Plaquenil patient this week. When you see the “flying saucer” on the OCT, we now know that’s a little later than desired. Ideally would like to pick up IS/OS separation, but to me that’s a challenge. I really like having the color vision to say - “all good”.  I’m adding the multifocal ERG soon and that will help a lot with Plaquenil. We now know the deposits do NOT occur first under the fovea. So, getting some parafoveal info from color and MF ERG will be nice.  
 
The same principle applies to glaucoma (optic neuropathy) and amblyopia. When doing color test monocularly, the results quickly validate the severity of the disease.

How many patient results can be saved on a computer? 

Storing approximately 100 test results is equal to approximately 1 megabyte. This means that 100,000 test results can be saved on 1 gigabyte. 

 

My Waggoner CCVT won't connect to the internet. 

 

1. Check that other applications on your computer have an internet connection. Check at least 3 different programs. Here are some suggestions: 

  

  • Open your internet browser (Ex. Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox) and navigate to www.WaggonerDiagnostics.com 

  • Open default Windows email client and send test email to support@waggonerdiagnostics.com. Ensure that email sent without errors. Such way you will be sure email gateway works correctly in your system. 

  • Download any well known 3rd party program and check your internet connection with it. If the 3rd party program can connect to the internet, your computer's operating system policies does not allow Internet connections for unknown/new programs. 

2. Disable Windows Defender Firewall. (https://support.microsoft.com/en-ae/help/4028544/windows-10-turn-windows-defender-firewall-on-or-off) 

  

  • Please restart the Waggoner CCVT and check internet connection. 

  • Otherwise, Check Windows Defender Firewall. Details in this article https://www.technipages.com/blockunblock-programs-in-windows-firewall. Make sure that Waggoner WCCVT application is not blocked. If it is, please unblock it. If there is still no connection after unblocking the Waggoner CCVT , please move onto step 3.

4. Turn off your third-party Antivirus and/or Firewall and then check the  internet connection on the Waggoner CCVT. 

  

  • If a third-party Antivirus is a reason then google "unblock program <your antivirus name>" for instructions of how to unblock Waggoner WCCVT in your Antivirus. For example "unblock program avast" 

5. If possible, create new user in the Windows operating system and install Waggoner WCCVT for new user. 

  • Run Waggoner WCCVT with admin rights by right click on icon and choose 'Run as Administrator' from popup menu.   

6. If none of the above worked, please contact your system administrator if you have one available and ask for assistance. 

7. If none of the above worked, please contact your Internet Service Provider support 

8. If none of the above worked, there's a possibility your system was infected with malware that prevents connection to the internet for other programs. We recommend doing a full system scan with your installed Antivirus. 

  • We recommend downloading and use Malwarebytes anti-malware and Super AntiSpyware and let the application scan your operating system. 

 

What are the minimum requirements to run the Waggoner CCVT on my computer? 

  • Microsoft Windows 11 operating system OR Apple iPad running iOS15 OR MacBook using M1 – M4 chip. 

  • 1 gigahertz of processing speed 

  • 512 MB of RAM 

  • 4.5 GB of disk space

Why is color vision testing done? 

Color vision testing is performed by eye care professionals to identify both genetic and acquired color vision deficiencies within their patients. Genetic deficiencies affect 8% of men and .5% of women. Acquired deficiencies affect up to 15% of the general population and help in identifying diseases such as glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, macular degeneration, and optic neuropathies. Acquired deficiencies can also be caused by 300+ substances at toxic levels such as Plaquenil.
