PRECISION COLOR VISION TESTING
For Critical Decision in Healthcare, Military, and Beyond. Is your organization ColorSafe?
Validated color vision testing that meets FAA requirements and ensures that all personnel are fit for critical in-flight decision making.
Challenges in Aviation Color Vision Testing
Need to ensure that you are using a color vision test that meets FAA and other governing bodies requirements?
Regulatory compliance is essential. Non-compliance can result in fines, legal issues, or failure to meet operational standards. The Waggoner CCVT is an approved color vision test under FAA guidelines.
Looking for a precise color vision test that can be scaled to meet your high (or low) demand for testing?
Many traditional testing methods require testing conditions that can be difficult to replicate and are time consuming. Color vision testing books can be costly for organizations requiring multiples to meet their high-volume demand for testing.
Want to reduce liability and risk while ensuring accurate testing results?
With easy access to the same books that many examiners use, potential pilots could obtain their own copy of the test in advance and memorize the answers.

There are a few reasons why you might see more fails with the Waggoner CCVT than when using the
traditional methods such as Ishihara books.
- The newer computerized color tests required by the FAA have increased sensitivity and accuracy versus
book testing.
- The Waggoner CCVT also includes Tritan testing to watch for those with acquired deficiencies. Acquired
deficiencies affect about 15% of the population due to medications, diseases, and environmental factors.
- Books have very strict testing protocols that might not always be replicated within the test taking
setting. The age and physical condition of the book may also be a factor.
- Cheating has occurred since the books are published and widely available. Memorization of the plates can
occur. The Waggoner CCVT is a randomized test to prohibit this from happening.
